The Dolder Grand is a city resort that beautifully merges past and future. Perched high above Zurich, the fairy tale-like castle building first served as a Curhaus (a health-and-wellness center), during the late-19th century. Today, it honors this history with a state-of-the-art, 4,000-square-meter spa, which is housed in one of the new wings designed by Lord Norman Foster. The enormous complex comprises eighteen treatment rooms, a medical wellness center, and an aqua zone, all with breathtaking mountain views. Like the hotel itself, the spa program mixes old and new, focusing on spiritual health as well as pampering treatments. Rooms are scattered throughout the property, and all are timelessly decorated with stylish furnishings. The acclaimed Restaurant, headed by innovative young chef Heiko Nieder, has a Michelin star.
