Overview
The hotel is located on Bebelplatz, just off "Unter den Linden", not far from the "Brandenburg Gate" and opposite the "Humboldt University" and adjacent to the State Opera House in the heart of Berlin. To the right of the hotel is the opera house and, to the left, the former royal library, now the university law school. Berlin is one of Europes centers of cultural offering music, art and museum of the highest quality. A new conversion of an existing building originally constructed in 1889 by architect L. Heim that housed the head office of Dresdner Bank until 1945. Hotel de Rome is a fully restored historical building. All rooms, inspired by neo-classical architect Schinkel, have been designed by Tommaso Ziffer. The hotel is just ten miles from Tegel International Airport. 146 rooms and suites * all with sound-proof doors and windows, mini bar, safe, trouser press, high speed Internet access, LCD flat screen TV and a large marble mosaic bathroom with separate shower.
Dining In
Our restaurant seats 120 guests and does look on to a large external terrace, which will be used for al-fresco dining during the summer month. The restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine. Our chefs develop a cuisine based on traditional German cooking. Our Bar & Lounge will be adjacent to the restaurant and does have a more contemporary feel. It is overlooking Bebelplatz and additional seating in a colonnaded area with an original mosaic floor.
Recreation and Health
The SPA has a plunge pool, steam bath, sauna and relaxation area, and a fully-equipped gymnasium. The original "jewel room" of the bank vault houses a 20-meters swimming pool. There are five treatment rooms offering a range of therapies and health and beauty treatments.
Features
6 meeting and conference rooms. Banquet capacity of 220PAX. The Palm Court is a grand room and features its original glazed ceiling; it is the focal for coffee and afternoon tea. Guest will also be able to have drinks and refreshments in Bebelplatz. The colonnaded Ballroom is stunning with its double height and glazed roof and can accommodate up to 220 people. In addition the hotel has also five meeting rooms which can accommodate groups of 14 up to 80. All conference rooms and the ballroom have natural light, equipped with the latest technology and can access via a separate entrance. There are 30 secure underground parking spaces for guests.
