Opened in 1986, the hotel - located in the heart of the business district of the city, 500m from Casa da Música and 1 km from the Modern Art Museum, is managed by the Sonae Group since 1999, and specifically caters to the business and leisure market for which it meets the highest standards of luxury and quality. The hotel was expanded and refurbished during 2006.

233 rooms and 18 suites - including 191 executive rooms, 42 deluxe rooms (on the 3 top floors of the hotel), 12 executive suites, 3 deluxe suites, 2 superior deluxe suites and 1 Grand Palacio suite. All guest rooms and suites have a city or river view, Plasma TV, working desk, complimentary wireless internet, in-room safe, Ergonomic positioned frigo-bar. Bathrooms feature a TFT 10 inch television on all deluxe floors, complete set of Molton Brown amenities, radiant floor, hair dryer, bathrobe and slippers.

Leading the way to Carbon Neutral Stay

The Leading Hotels of the World, Ltd. (LHW) is delighted to make the financial commitment to STI to offset our guest's energy consumption while staying at any one of our hotels. Although this is not the best solution for addressing climate change, it is our first endeavor to help reduce unavoidable greenhouse gas emissions.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration calculates that the average building uses 29.3 kilowatt-hours of electricity per square foot per year. Based on this number STI has computed the total amount of pounds of greenhouse gas emissions emitted per room night including the average common area spaces.

The Leading Hotels is also offering our guests the opportunity to voluntarily donate the computed amount necessary to offset their waste, water, transportation or all carbon emissions.
