Hotel Okura enjoys a privileged location on one of Amsterdam’s famous canals in the heart of the city. It is situated within walking distance of the RAI Convention Center, 10 minutes from the cultural area, and 15 minutes from Schiphol Airport, making this hotel the ideal choice for a stay in Amsterdam. Its tastefully furnished rooms all feature air conditioning, Internet access, e-mail, voice mail, and all modern amenities. In addition to these amenities, the Deluxe Rooms, Deluxe Junior Suites and rooms on the Executive Floors are also equipped with a 32-inch LCD television, sockets for Swiss, Dutch, French and English plugs, a spacious bathroom with build-in flat screens and many other luxurious facilities. Hotel Okura also features the most spacious (485 m2 / 5390 ft2) and luxurious Suite in the Benelux countries. THE SUITE features two large bedrooms, both with their own bathroom, a dining room and even a private cinema. THE SUITE occupies two floors (the 17th and the 18th), which have been transformed, into an oasis of space, warmth and luxury - an environment delightful to all the senses and offering a stunning view over the city.

The elegant Ciel Bleu Restaurant located on the 23rd floor serves exquisite French cuisine and offers a magnificent view of the capital city. The restaurant was completely restyled in 2007 and has been awarded two Michelin stars which makes Ciel Bleu the only two-star restaurant in Amsterdam. The traditional Japanese Yamazato Restaurant is located on the ground floor of the hotel and overlooks the Japanese garden. This restaurant serves authentic Japanese "Kaiseki Riori" cuisine and has been awarded one Michelin star. Located next to Yamazato is the Japanese Teppanyaki Restaurant Sazanka, where food is prepared on a hotplate right in front of the guests. Finally, there is Le Camelia Brasserie, which has been awarded a Bib Gourmand by Michelin and which is an international restaurant where breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. Of course the hotel also offers 24-hour room service. In addition to the four restaurants, the hotel also offers two bars, including the La Serre bar with its beautiful terrace, and the International Champagne and Cocktail Bar Twenty Third on the 23rd floor of the hotel, which has been proclaimed best cocktail bar in the Netherlands.

Leading the way to Carbon Neutral Stay

The Leading Hotels of the World, Ltd. (LHW) is delighted to make the financial commitment to STI to offset our guest's energy consumption while staying at any one of our hotels. Although this is not the best solution for addressing climate change, it is our first endeavor to help reduce unavoidable greenhouse gas emissions.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration calculates that the average building uses 29.3 kilowatt-hours of electricity per square foot per year. Based on this number STI has computed the total amount of pounds of greenhouse gas emissions emitted per room night including the average common area spaces.

The Leading Hotels is also offering our guests the opportunity to voluntarily donate the computed amount necessary to offset their waste, water, transportation or all carbon emissions.
