Property Overview
Zurich’s Widder Hotel, built on the site of Roman and Celtic ruins, comprises nine medieval houses decorated with 15th-century frescoes. Given its historical depth, it is not surprising that architect Tilla Theus’s painstaking transformation took more than ten years. Every room is individually styled to mix the past, represented in the unusual circular rooms and passages, which refer to the Roman wall uncovered during construction, and the modern, seen in furnishings created by such design greats as Charles and Ray Eames and Frank Lloyd Wright. The Widder Bar offers over 650 whiskies and is well-known for its world-class bartenders. The two restaurants - the casual restaurant Boucherie AuGust and the fine-dining Widder Restaurant - cater for culinary delights.
