Bremen’s leafy Bürgerpark, home of the aptly named Park Hotel, first opened in the mid 19th century.
Bremen is Germany’s smallest state and its eponymous port city along the river Weser is one of the country’s most historic dating to 1032. Bremen’s Bürgerpark, home of the aptly named Park Hotel, first opened in the mid-19th century at a time when public gardens were just beginning to garner support (its name literally translates to “citizen’s park”). Tucked into this leafy splendor, full of meandering paths, lakes and the zoo, the Park Hotel makes the most of the serene setting. Modeled on a duke’s country residence, it features a central building, topped with a terra-cotta dome, and two wings that fan out to both sides. Couples and families are equally happy here thanks to a myriad of on- and off-property activities, as well as extensive pool facilities.
