Located six minutes from RDU International Airport and fifteen minutes from downtown Raleigh – adjacent to Umstead State Park and central to all attractions in the triangle area, The Umstead Hotel and Spa offers unparalleled luxury in an environment that expresses an appreciation for the arts and embraces the wonders of nature. The six-story hotel, nestled against a 3-acre lake, resides on 12 acres and is surrounded by lush gardens. 123 rooms and 27 suites: Each with a 42-inch plasma TV, writing desk, complimentary wired and wireless Internet access and a stocked refrigerator. All marble bathrooms have a separate shower, deep-soaking bath and double vanity. Standard guest rooms average between 540 to 570 square feet/50 to 53 square meters.

Our signature restaurant, Herons, will offer a modern American dining experience like no other in the region, reflecting both our setting in the agriculturally rich Triangle area of North Carolina and our location in this stunning new contemporary hotel. As a tribute to the finest North Carolina and Southern farmers and artisans, we’ll feature local, often organic ingredients, regional influences and time-honored Southern dishes. To complement our cuisine, we’ve carefully selected wines for our 2,500-bottle wine cellar, designed with the wine connoisseur in mind, and for pairing with our artful cuisine. Diners may choose from our à la carte menu, seasonal tasting menu, or select from exquisitely prepared spa dishes. Guests will enjoy our open kitchen, offset by cozy banquettes and a semi-private room for 8, or our exclusive Chef’s Table for 12. Outdoors, the 46-seat terrace flanked by a fireplace will offer breathtaking panoramic views of the 3-acre lake and surrounding gardens. Open daily for breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday Brunch. Live entertainment nightly in The Bar and Afternoon Tea served in the lobby Tuesday to Saturday 2:30pm to 4:30pm.
