Since 1870, the Britannia has served as the hub of Trondheim, a place where everyone from local politicians to visiting royalty, international stars, and arctic explorers, have gathered to meet, share stories, and enjoy elegant hospitality. Following a three-year, nearly $150 million top-to-toe renovation, the fjord-side city’s grande dame will relaunch in 2019, ready for the next generation of regulars. Handpicked furnishings and textiles, fine linens, and marble bathrooms will adorn the bright guestrooms, which include a number of elevated suites. Six on-site restaurants and bars will range from the majestic Palm Court for an unforgettable breakfast spread, to a wine bar that draws from a several thousand bottle-strong cellar, and modern fine dining from Bocuse d’Or-awarded chef, Christopher Davidsen.
