Dark, discreet, decadent. Over-the-top decor and under-the-table mischief. A watering hole befitting dreamy aesthetes, wandering flaneurs, and swaggering dandies. The high-born agreeably mix with the lowbrow, the bon vivants nurse the lugubrious and everyone is "willkommen". A guy’s guy sort of place with a menu to match -- epicurean, savory favorites with Chef’s personal inspirations. A wine list not meant for the faint of heart, a bar that happily provides your martini in lieu of an entrée and desserts that extend the pleasure principle.
Executive Chef: Herve Glin
This brightly colored open-air terrace restaurant serves breakfast all day. Mind you, the concept of breakfast at Norma’s can be a no holds bared extravaganza of decadent proportions -- it’s a habit picked up from her sister restaurant -- also ‘Norma’s’ -- located in New York City. The white slump block and wood interior of Norma’s is a room open, friendly and bright throughout the day -- cozy, votive-lit, and discreet at night when the menu changes to a short selection of California fresh, clean entrees prepared to classic perfection or with the subtlest twist to standard. Comfortable, low-key, effortless.
December 17 - 20, 2018: Indoor seating at Norma's will be closed and will reopen on Friday, December 21st. Patio seating remains open.
Bar-seating and stand-up ledge-leaning is the rule of thumb -- think
Paris tabac or the zinc -- the heart of local life, crowded with regulars at the counter waiting for their vin rouge or cafe créme. Here you will find an eclectic curation of wines by the glass offered with a menu of small plated savory delicacies created for this tasting smorgasbord. More than an amuse-bouche, less than a serving. Range, variety, exploration and discovery are the point.

A bar -- intimate and grandiose at the same time -- designed like a jewel box. Dark emerald stone facings with mirrored accents, blackamoor sconces and brass stools. Pull up a chair, christen it as your own, and return daily for your split of champagne, your driest gin martini, your ruby colored negroni. Go solo or share the spirits -- up to you. Wander a bit further into the lounge proper -- a space that warms on a cool desert night -- if not from drink then certainly from the suspended fireplace and it’s seating surround. A mix of adjacent love seats, couches, and hanging chairs provide a setting for discreet tete-a-tete’s as well the occasional voyeur. Part mod, part modern, all comfort. Drink, eat and be merry.
What could be a more fitting adjacency to the Pétanque court than a citron presse? The charm and pluck of it has infiltrated the entire property. You have not experienced anything here if you haven not made at least one stop at the Lemonade Stand. Order poolside or from beneath the striped awning stand. Seating also available. The Lemonade Stand is for registered estate guests only.
