It takes only 25 minutes to drive from Palma de Mallorca to the small village of Es Capdellà where, after taking a right turn at the church, the road winds down into a valley and then, spread out in front of you, the foothills of the UNESCO World Heritage Tramuntana mountains and, in the middle of it, Castell Son Claret, nestled between meadows and untouched nature.

Best Neighborhood Walk
Tramuntana Mountains, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A beautiful hike begins just 200 metres from the hotel, past the Galatzó houses and along the Camí de les Planes, with the climb up the south face to the 1,027-metre Puig de Galatzó, one of Mallorca's most beautiful mountains.
Top Architecture Find
To explore Palma, the grand Gothic cathedral of La Seu is the perfect starting point. The striking church building was built on the foundations of an Arab mosque, abandoned by King Jaime I when the Catholics conquered the island in 1229.
If you are lucky enough to be in Palma on 2 February or 11 November, you can experience a very special light phenomenon. La Seu has one of the largest rose windows in the world, through which on these days the light reflects onto the opposite wall, just below the second rose window. The beautiful play of light is worth a trip.

Top Day Trip
Located on the southwest coast of Mallorca, the Sa Dragonera nature reserve is six kilometres long and overlooked by an old watchtower. Legend has it that the island of Sa Dragonera, because of its shape, is a sleeping dragon that protects Mallorca from pirates and invaders.

Tramuntana Mountains, declared UNESCO world-heritage site in 2011, runs southwest-northeast across the island of Mallorca and offers excellent physical and cultural experiences.
