Best View
This historic building dating from at least the 11th century A.D. and it is famous for its scenic Belvedere, the Terrazzo dell'lnfinito. Much altered and extended in the early twentieth century by Ernest William Beckett, today the villa is composed of many salvaged architectural elements from other parts of Italy and elsewhere; little of the original structure remains visible. The gardens were redeveloped by Beckett as well. The villa is now a hotel and its gardens open to the public. www.villacimbrone.com

The gardens and grounds of the Villa Rufolo are open year round and attract visitors from all over the world. Juxtaposed against the sea, the sky, umbrella pines, and the Church of the Annunziata below, the gardens, with their profusion of flowers, have a magical quality to them.
